Aufgrund von Verzögerungen bei den Vertragsverhandlungen zum Microsoft Bundesvertrag wird die weitere Nutzung an der RWTH derzeit noch geklärt.

Aktualisierung der Zertifikate und Metadaten auf den Systemen der Cloud-Infrastruktur

Die Zertifikate auf unseren Authentifizierungs-Servern für die Anmeldung mit den @m365, @students und @azure-Microsoft Konten werden aktualisiert. Im Anschluss werden auf den Shibboleth-Servern die Metadaten aktualisiert.
Wir gehen nicht von einer Einschränkung beim Login aus.

Routing über neue XWiN-Router

During this period, the routing of the previous XWiN routers (Nexus 7700) will be switched to the new XWiN routers (Catalyst 9600). These routers are essential for RWTH's network connection. This changeover also requires the migration of the DFN connection, which is switched redundantly to Frankfurt and Hannover, and the RWTH firewall to the new systems.
There will be complete or partial outages of the external connection during the maintenance window. All RWTH services (e.g. VPN, email, RWTHonline, RWTHmoodle) will not be available during this period. The accessibility of services within the RWTH network will be temporarily unavailable due to limited DNS functionality.

Aktueller Stand zur Beschaffung der Storage-Erweiterungspakete im Students-Tenant

With reference to the mailing of 23.07.2024 to the students with the title:
Storage Reduction (OneDrive, SharePoint Online) for Students From Mid-September 2024”
The procurement of the storage expansion packages is currently still in progress and we cannot guarantee that the storage in the tenant will be released on 01.08.2024.
If the packages have not been booked into the tenant by 01.08.2024, the tenant and all OneDrive and SharePoint Online sites will be set to “read-only” mode.
This means that no new data can be uploaded or existing data edited until implementation. No data will be lost. Data can still be accessed and downloaded so that work can continue locally if required.
As soon as the conversion is complete, the services will be available again as usual.
This status message will be updated continuously.

As of 31.07.2024, 14:30: The extension packages were imported into the tenant this morning and we are now waiting for them to be synchronized with all Microsoft services. We assume that the synchronization will be completed by 02.08.2024 at the latest.
There is no way for us to speed up this process.

vCenter Server

Aufgrund von Erneuerung der SSL Zertifikate wird der vCenter Server im genannten Zeitraum teilweise kurzzeitig nicht erreichbar sein.
Alle VMs laufen wie gewohnt weiter und die Erreichbarkeit der darauf laufenden Dienste wird NICHT durch diese Wartung beeinträchtigt werden. Lediglich die Funktionen des HTML5 Clients für das Management ihrer VMs werden nicht verfügbar sein, da Sie sich während der Wartung nicht am vCenter Server einloggen können.

Microsoft Teams Anmeldung in Dauerschleife

Mit der Einführung der Multifaktor-Authentifizierung für SSO kann es dazu kommen, dass man bei der Anmeldung an Microsoft Teams in eine Dauerschleife gerät.
Diese kann man umgehen, indem man im Anmeldeprozess "Nein, nur bei dieser App anmelden" auswählt.
Sollte es weiterhin zu Problemen kommen, löschen Sie bitte den Cache von Microsoft Teams und schauen Sie, ob dies Ihr Problem behebt, bevor Sie sich an unser Service-Desk wenden.

Multifactor-Authentication for the RWTH Single Sign-On

Since July 2, 2024, the RWTH Single Sign-On (SSO) and the login of all SSO-connected services is protected with multifactor-authentication (MFA). In addition to an individual password, users must now enter a second factor when logging in. The second factor must be generated in Selfservice [1] via the Token Manager. On 29.04.2024 at 23:59 the old Microsoft accounts of the employees on the RWTH-Tenant (login with vorname.nachname@rwth-aachen.de) will be deactivated.
As of this date, employees will no longer have access to the RWTH-Tenant and the Microsoft products obtained via it.
Please download your data (e.g. Office, OneDrive, OneNote or SharePoint) from your account in advance and back them up locally.
